Graphene Battery

Graphene Battery is 1 in 3 Deep Tech from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang

Graphene is a derivative material in the carbon group with a sheet thickness of just one carbon atom (0.354 nm). It is known for its extreme thinness and strength, yet it remains flexible enough to bend or fold. Moreover, graphene exhibits excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and electron mobility.

In addition to graphene, Graphene Oxide (GO) and Reduced Graphene Oxide (rGO) share some properties with graphene and possess additional unique characteristics. These include antimicrobial properties against bacteria and viruses, thermal insulation properties, oil and water absorption capabilities, high thermal and chemical resistance. These properties make graphene and its derivatives promising materials for developing new innovations and materials.

Researchers, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chetsada Rattanapan, from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, have been investigating and developing graphene batteries and other graphene-based materials. These innovations aim to support the development of electric vehicles (EVs) in Thailand’s automotive industry and align with the principles of the Bio-Circular-Green Economy for sustainable society.
