♻️ KMITL and Lat Krabang District Join Forces to Launch “Lat Krabang Waste-Free” Initiative

King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), in collaboration with the Lat Krabang District Office, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Committee for Participatory Development of Lat Krabang (CPD-LKB), local community networks, and Wastebuy Delivery Co., Ltd., officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the “Lat Krabang Waste-Free” project at the KMITL Lifelong Learning Center (KLLC).

🟢 Goal: Reduce household waste in the Lat Krabang district by 30% by the end of 2025 through a comprehensive waste management strategy and widespread community participation.

The MOU was signed by
🔹 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Komsan Maleesee, President of KMITL
🔹 Asst. Prof. Dr. Chotchunok Atthaphong, Assistant to the President for Physical Environment and Sustainability

The ceremony was honored by
🔸 Mr. Surachit Phongsingwittaya, President of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council
🔸 Mr. Tharapong Phetkhong, Director of Lat Krabang District Office
🔸 Mr. Panuwat Onthes, Director of BMA Waste and Wastewater Management Division
🔸 Dr. Bamrung Tangsanga, Chairperson of the CPD-LKB
🔸 Dr. Itthikorn Srijanban, CEO of Wastebuy Delivery Co., Ltd.
🔸 Representatives from over 169 local communities in and around Lat Krabang

This collaboration emphasizes waste separation at the household level, fostering public understanding and inspiring behavior change toward sustainable waste reduction. It also aligns with Bangkok’s and KMITL’s broader vision to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4, SDG 12, SDG 17) through grassroots environmental action.
