In order to ensure that the collection of fees for student dormitory residency at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) is conducted appropriately and efficiently, By virtue of Clause 5 of the KMITL Regulations on the Collection of Dormitory Fees and Conditions for Student Residence B.E. 2551 (2008), and Clause 17 of the Statutes of KMITL on Budgeting, Financial and Asset Management, and Accounting B.E. 2556 (2013), in conjunction with the resolution of the Finance and Asset Management Committee at Meeting No. 10/2565, dated December 2, 2022, the Institute hereby issues the following announcement:
Clause 1 This announcement shall come into force on the day following the date of its issuance.
Clause 2 The Announcement of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang on Student Dormitory Fees dated July 12, 2019, shall be repealed. Any prior announcements or resolutions that are inconsistent with or contrary to this announcement shall be superseded by this one.
Clause 3 In this announcement:
- “Institute” refers to King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL).
- “President” refers to the President of the Institute.
- “Property Management Office” refers to the Property Management Office under the Office of the President, KMITL.
- “Student” refers to any undergraduate, graduate, or program-enrolled student of the Institute.
- “Resident” refers to a student, Institute personnel, or visitor authorized by the President or the Executive Vice President designated to oversee the student dormitory.
- “Student Dormitory” refers to residential buildings within the Institute’s premises.
- “Student Dormitory Fees” refer to the fees paid by residents for daily, monthly, semester-based, or annual accommodations in the dormitory, including charges for water, electricity, and dormitory access cards.
- “Regular Semester” refers to either the first or second semester, as defined in the Institute’s academic calendar.
- “Inter-Semester Break” refers to the period between the end of the first semester and the beginning of the second semester, as per the Institute’s academic calendar.
- “Special Semester” refers to the period following the end of the second semester of the academic year until the conclusion of the special semester, as specified in the Institute’s academic calendar.
- “Academic Year” refers to the period covering the first semester, inter-semester break, second semester, and special semester, in accordance with the Institute’s academic calendar.
- “Guest Room” refers to temporary accommodation, whether on a daily, monthly, or other basis, provided by the student dormitory for students, Institute personnel, or external guests.
- “Dormitory Type A and B” refers to dormitory rooms located in Buildings 9–12 with a total internal floor area, including the bathroom and balcony, not exceeding 35 square meters.
- “Dormitory Type C” refers to dormitory rooms located in Buildings 9–12 with a total internal floor area, including the bathroom and balcony, exceeding 35 square meters.
Clause 4 Student dormitory fees shall apply to rooms accommodating 1 to 3 students, or as approved by the President or the Executive Vice President assigned to oversee student dormitories. The applicable fees shall be paid as follows:
Clause 4.1 Buildings 1–2 (Non-Air-Conditioned Rooms)
4.1.1 Students residing during the regular semester
- Room fee: 6,000 THB per room per semester
- Water fee: 200 THB per person per semester
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, calculated based on actual usage per room per month
4.1.2 Students residing during the inter-semester break
- Room fee: 1,500 THB per room
- Water fee: 50 THB per person
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, calculated based on actual usage per room per month
4.1.3 Students residing during the special semester
- Room fee: 3,000 THB per room per semester
- Water fee: 100 THB per person per semester
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, calculated based on actual usage per room per month
4.1.4 Students residing for the full academic year
- Room fee: 15,000 THB per room per academic year
- Water fee: 500 THB per person per academic year
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, calculated based on actual usage per room per month
Clause 4.2 Buildings 3, 4, and 6 (Non-Air-Conditioned Rooms)
4.2.1 Students residing during the regular semester
- Room fee: 10,000 THB per room per semester
- Water fee: 200 THB per person per semester
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, calculated based on actual usage per room per month
4.2.2 Students residing during the inter-semester break
- Room fee: 2,500 THB per room
- Water fee: 50 THB per person
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, calculated based on actual usage per room per month
4.2.3 Students residing during the special semester
- Room fee: 5,000 THB per room per semester
- Water fee: 100 THB per person per semester
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, calculated based on actual usage per room per month
4.2.4 Students residing for the full academic year
- Room fee: 20,000 THB per room per academic year
- Water fee: 500 THB per person per academic year
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, calculated based on actual usage per room per month
Clause 4.3 Building 5 (Air-Conditioned Rooms)
4.3.1 Students residing during the regular semester
- Room fee: 18,000 THB per room per semester
- Water fee: 400 THB per person per semester
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
4.3.2 Students residing during the inter-semester break
- Room fee: 4,500 THB per room
- Water fee: 100 THB per person
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
4.3.3 Students residing during the special semester
- Room fee: 9,000 THB per room per semester
- Water fee: 200 THB per person per semester
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
4.3.4 Students residing for the full academic year
- Room fee: 45,000 THB per room per academic year
- Water fee: 1,000 THB per person per academic year
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
Clause 4.4 Buildings 7–8 (Air-Conditioned Rooms)
4.4.1 Students residing during the regular semester
- Room fee: 20,000 THB per room per semester
- Water: 18 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
4.4.2 Students residing during the inter-semester break
- Room fee: 5,000 THB per room
- Water: 18 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
4.4.3 Students residing during the special semester
- Room fee: 10,000 THB per room per semester
- Water: 18 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room

- Room fee: 50,000 THB per room per academic year

Clause 4.5 Buildings 9–12 (Air-Conditioned Rooms)
4.5.1 Students residing during the regular semester
- Room fee: 24,000 THB per room per semester for Type A and B rooms
- Room fee: 28,000 THB per room per semester for Type C rooms
- Water: 18 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
4.5.2 Students residing during the inter-semester break
- Room fee: 6,000 THB per room for Type A and B rooms
- Room fee: 7,000 THB per room for Type C rooms
- Water: 18 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
4.5.3 Students residing during the special semester
- Room fee: 12,000 THB per room per semester for Type A and B rooms
- Room fee: 14,000 THB per room per semester for Type C rooms
- Water: 18 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
4.5.4 Students residing for the full academic year
- Room fee: 60,000 THB per room per academic year for Type A and B rooms
- Room fee: 70,000 THB per room per academic year for Type C rooms
- Water: 18 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
- Electricity: 8 THB per unit, based on actual monthly usage per room
Clause 5 Students may be granted an exemption from the dormitory room fee only. However, they must still be responsible for paying the water and electricity charges as well as the dormitory access card fee. The department responsible for the student must submit a request to the Student Dormitory Office, Property Management Office, for consideration and approval on a case-by-case basis by the President or the designated Executive Vice President.
If the student is unable to pay the utility and card fees, the responsible department must cover the full amount on behalf of the student.
Eligible students must meet one of the following criteria:
5.1 Students who receive a scholarship from the Institute that includes a dormitory fee waiver.
5.2 International students participating in the Institute’s exchange programs with dormitory fee waivers.
5.3 Students with financial hardship.
Clause 6 International students who are permitted by the Institute to reside in the student dormitory shall pay the dormitory fees at the same rates specified in Clause 4.
Clause 7 Institute personnel or visitor who wish to stay in guest rooms of the student dormitory must obtain prior approval from the President or the designated Executive Vice President. The following rates apply:
400 THB per day or 8,000 THB per month (Buildings 1–8)
600 THB per day or 14,000 THB per month (Buildings 9–12)
(These rates include utility charges)
Fee waivers may also be granted by the President or the designated Executive Vice President.
Clause 8 Students must pay 50 THB per dormitory access card. In the case of a damaged, lost, or malfunctioning card, students must apply for a new one and pay an additional 50 THB.
When moving out, students must return the access card to the Student Dormitory Office.
For temporary residents staying fewer than 30 days, a permanent dormitory card is not required; a temporary card will be issued for presentation to security personnel during entry and exit.
Clause 9 Dormitory fees and other charges specified in this announcement must be paid upon approval for residence, in accordance with the procedures announced by the Student Dormitory Office, Property Management Office.
Once payment has been made, it is non-refundable under any circumstances, unless otherwise approved by the President or designated Executive Vice President on a case-by-case basis.
Clause 10 In cases where electricity and/or water charges are calculated based on actual usage, payment must be made by the 15th of the following month. A late fee of 50 THB per day will be applied starting from the 16th, including weekends and public holidays, with a maximum of 500 THB per month.
If a student or resident fails to pay the utility fees for more than two months, the Institute will immediately terminate their right to reside in the dormitory. The individual must vacate the room within seven (7) days after receiving written notice from the Student Dormitory Office. Students intending to move out must settle all outstanding fees, including utility charges, on the day of departure.
Clause 11 Students residing in Buildings 7–12 (air-conditioned rooms) must report their water meter readings on the 25th of each month by submitting the designated form along with a photo of the water meter. Failure to comply allows the building staff to enter the room to obtain the meter reading without dispute.
Clause 12 Students or residents are responsible for safeguarding their keys and key cards. The Institute prohibits duplicating key cards or keys or engaging in any fraudulent activity. Violators will be subject to disciplinary action and appropriate penalties.
If a key card is lost, the replacement fee is 200 THB.
If a key is lost, the replacement fee is 100 THB.
Upon moving out, all keys and key cards must be returned to the Student Dormitory Office on the declared move-out date.
Clause 13 Any student or resident who causes damage to dormitory property must immediately report it to the designated dormitory staff and shall be responsible for compensating the actual value of the damage. All occupants of the room in question will share liability for the damages.
Clause 14 Students with unpaid dormitory fees or unresolved damage charges will not be allowed to graduate.
Clause 15 Requests for deferral of dormitory fee payments shall be considered and approved on a case-by-case basis by the President or designated Executive Vice President.
Clause 16 The Asset Management Office shall issue operational guidelines for the student dormitory, including assessment of property damage charges and post-checkout cleaning service fees (if applicable).
Clause 17 The President shall have the authority to interpret and make final decisions regarding the implementation of this announcement.
