KMITL Explores Implementation of Smart Recycling Hubs
in Student Dormitories to Boost Waste Management Efficiency

November 25, 2025 – Representatives from Waste Buy met with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jaroswan Khowanich, Vice President for Asset Management and Sustainability, to conduct a site survey and discuss a collaborative framework for campus waste management. The primary focus of the discussion was the development and strategic placement of Recycling Collection Kiosks within student dormitories—a high-density area where efficient waste sorting systems are critical.

Key Objectives:

  • Source Segregation: Encouraging correct waste sorting at the point of disposal.

  • Recycling Optimization: Preventing cross-contamination of waste to ensure a highly effective recycling process.

  • Behavioral Change: Promoting responsible disposal habits among students and staff.

  • Environmental Excellence: Enhancing campus cleanliness, organization, and long-term sustainability.

This initiative is a significant step toward creating a cleaner and more sustainable living environment for students, staff, and the surrounding community.
