Empowering Vulnerable Households: Sustainable Vocational Training through Fabric Crafting

February 4, 2026 – At the multi-purpose pavilion of the 203 Langkha Daeng Community, Lat Krabang, KMITL launched the “Occupational Skill Development Project for Vulnerable Households.” This initiative focuses on empowering women and families within the community by providing them with the tools to generate supplementary income, strengthen their local economy, and achieve long-term self-reliance.

The workshop, held from February 4–6, 2026, aims to bridge the skill gap, enhance career opportunities, and tangibly improve the quality of life for community members.

✨ Program Highlights

  • Grand Opening: Honored by Mrs. Aphiradee Sutthi, Director of the Baan Kredtrakarn Protection and Vocational Development Center, Bangkok.

  • Theoretical Foundation: Ms. Natnicha Nonthapha, an expert instructor, shared essential knowledge on material selection, crafting techniques, packaging design, cost calculation, and strategic pricing.

  • Hands-on Practice: Participants engaged in the meticulous process of creating therapeutic pillows and fabric flower brooches, learning everything from delicate folding to professional assembly.

🀝 Synergy for Social Impact

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jaroswan Khowanich, Vice President for Asset Management and Sustainability, along with the KLLC (Lifelong Learning Center) team, visited the site to engage with the community. This visit underscores the powerful synergy between the Institute and the community in fostering sustainable human and social development.

The event featured creative sessions led by community instructors, where participants produced:

  • Trigger-Finger Relief Pillows: Functional crafts designed for health benefits.

  • Upcycled Fabric Brooches: Transforming scraps into beautiful accessories.

  • Every piece created can serve as a meaningful souvenir or the foundation of a new home-based business.
