Policy Announcement on Creating a Safe and Learning-Conducive Environment, Free from Addictive Substances and Risk Behaviors, Including Legally and Illegally Used Drugs King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang
Recognizing the importance of creating a safe and learning-conducive environment free from addictive substances and risk behaviors, including both legally and illegally used drugs, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) acknowledges that these substances and behaviors can negatively affect the health, body, mind, and conduct ofstudents, as well as tarnish the image and quality of the institution.
    In reference to the Narcotic Code B.E. 2564, the Tobacco Products Control Act B.E. 2560, Section 41, and the Ministry of Public Health Notification on Specifying Types or Names of Public Places, Workplaces, and Vehicles as Non-Smoking Areas or Smoking Zones in Non-Smoking Areas B.E. 2561, and in compliance with the state’s policy to prevent and mitigate drug abuse in educational institutions, raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of addictive substances and risk behaviors, promote a safe learning environment, and support the mission of the Institute in producing graduates who are competent, ethical, and moral, the Institute hereby declares the following policy:
- Prohibition of Use and Possession of Addictive Substances, Cigarettes, and E-Cigarettes
 
1.1 The use, possession, or distribution of any kind of addictive substances, including both legally and illegally used drugs, is strictly prohibited within the premises of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.
1.2 Smoking or using e-cigarettes is prohibited inside buildings, official premises, and surrounding areas of the Institute, except in designated smoking areas.
- Disciplinary and Legal Measures
 
2.1 Offenders will be subject to disciplinary actions in accordance with the Institute’s regulations. If the act also constitutes a legal offense, strict legal actions will be taken.
- Counseling and Rehabilitation
 
3.1 In cases where offenders express remorse and willingly undergo rehabilitation, the Institute may consider providing appropriate assistance.
This policy applies to students, faculty members, staff, and visitors conducting official business or participating in activities within the premises of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, including dormitories and other Institute-managed facilities.
This announcement shall take effect from the date of its issuance, and all relevant units must strictly comply with it.
