Policy on Promoting Equality, Diversity, and Human Dignity for All Individuals, based on the principles of human rights, equity, and fairness in the implementation of educational practices. King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang
King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) values and promotes equality, diversity, and the dignity of all individuals. The institution upholds the principles of human rights, fairness, and justice in the conduct of educational affairs, aiming to create a safe and inclusive environment free from discrimination and to foster mutual respect among all members of the academic community.
With reference to the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2560 (2017), Section 4 and Section 27; the Gender Equality Act B.E. 2558 (2015); and relevant human rights laws, KMITL hereby establishes the following policy to ensure equality and non-discrimination within the institution:
- KMITL promotes equal rights in terms of race, religion, gender, age, language, disability, economic status, political beliefs, or any other status.
- The institution ensures equal participation for all individuals in education, teaching, student activities, and career development.
- Students, faculty, and staff whose gender identity differs from their birth-assigned sex are allowed to dress in student uniforms, official outfits, or polite attire according to their gender identity, including participation in ceremonial events such as the graduation ceremony. However, attire for laboratory or practical courses must comply with specific course requirements, and internships or cooperative education programs must follow the dress codes set by the host organizations.
- Students, faculty, and staff whose gender identity differs from their birth-assigned sex may present or identify themselves, such as in photographs, according to their gender identity in institutional documents and ID cards.
- Direct or indirect discrimination or bullying is strictly prohibited, regardless of gender, physical appearance, opinions, or other factors.
- The use of respectful and non-discriminatory language is encouraged in documents, instructional materials, and all activities.
- The eligibility criteria and disqualifying characteristics for student admissions must not be based on race, religion, gender, age, language, disability, economic status, political beliefs, or any other status.
- No internal department of the institution shall issue any announcements, regulations, or guidelines that promote inequality or result in unfair treatment toward students, faculty, or staff on the basis of differences in race, religion, gender, age, language, disability, economic status, political beliefs, or any other status.
This policy applies to all students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders of KMITL, including any activities or programs organized or supported by the institution, whether conducted on or off campus.
This announcement shall take effect from the date of its issuance, and all departments within the Institute are required to strictly adhere to its provisions.
